The story
Ready to fly from a country road
Saab designed the JAS 39 Gripen to defend Sweden from dispersed bases, including ordinary highways. It can land on a short stretch of road, then refuel and rearm in minutes with a small ground crew.
Its delta wing and canards make it quick and agile. The letters JAS stand for its three jobs in Swedish: fighter, attack and reconnaissance. Our kit wears a green Swedish camouflage.
